What’s the secret behind the Duchess of Cambridge’s super slim shape? The royal reportedly follows a controversial celebrity dieting trend.

Just like many Hollywood stars, Kate Middleton is allegedly a fan of juicing to both look and feel good. Express is reporting the 32-year-old mother of Prince George began drinking natural fruit and vegetable juices before her highly televised wedding to Prince William in 2011, helping her slim down for the big day.
And apparently, it worked. The UK-based news site is also revealing Middleton not only dropped an entire dress size, but she’s still a fan of transforming her fresh produce into juice with the help of the Nutribullet extractor. The mini blender, currently available in a variety of major retail stores for about $100 and up, is said to completely break down ingredients “to their most nutritious and absorptive state, meaning you get the maximum nutrition your body needs.” In addition to juices, the handy kitchen gadget can also whip up smoothies, shakes, or soups.
However, should you also pick up this royal habit, especially if you’re looking to shed some pounds quickly for any major event? Some experts say juicing can be helpful in ensuring you’re consuming the necessary amounts of fruits and veggies per day, both required in one’s daily diet to feel fuller longer and stay healthy.

“It’s easy to drink a delicious glass of healthy juice,” explains Dr. Michael Wald, director of nutrition at Integrated Medicine in New York. “In a single drink, one could consume the entire days’ supply of fruit and vegetables. Enzymes found in vegetables also help the body digest food, have anti-inflammatory properties and even anti-cancer properties.”
But before you begin shaking things up a la Middleton, experts also warn that juicing too much can result in weight gain due to consuming excess calories, especially if you’re not implementing daily exercise to further help manage your weight.
“There’s the risk of overdoing it, but that’s true of any food with calories,” warns Wald.

It’s advised to consult a physician to determine how many calories you need each day to lose weight.
And these days, Middleton isn’t following a strict juicing diet. Express states she “only drinks juices for two days a month.”
“Kate’s favorite is said to be a puree of orange, pineapple, and banana,” adds the site.
